Below are my personal notes of The End of Jobs. These highlights were what I used to write my personal development book, Wiser Next Week, a condensation of many different self improvement books
Entrepreneurship: connecting, creating, inventing systems through businesses, people, ideas or processes
Job: Following the operating system someone else created
If you push harder and harder on a shorter lever, you won’t get better results
Credentials and knowledge are no longer scarce resources
What appears obvious in retrospect appears the the time risky
Globalization means we’re not competing for knowledge with 300 million Americans, but with 7 billion people
Jobs are getting more competitive and less profitable, at the same time, the software that replaces jobs decreases startup costs thus making it easier to start a new business
We avoid choices often because of fear of the unknown
Look Down the Hallway Test: Make reference of someone 5 years ahead of you professionally in the career path you’ve chosen, is that something you would want? Does it excite you?
