Teaching these Thai kids a second semester doesn’t feel awfully different from the end of the first term. Right now it feels like the second term is just going to be repetitive. It seems as though 80% of what there is to be gained has already been got. If I put my mind to it though, I’m sure I’ll find an angle to get something I didn’t in the first semester.
There is still much for me to learn, I’ll take every conversation I have like seeing a movie. More often than not, the movie will be nothing to write home about, but once in a while, I’ll find something truly special. A couple of tid bits I’ve learned from strangers I’ve talked to:
- Kasetsart University Tuition: 30k per semester
- Students from international schools used to be able to jump from Grade 10 to college if their grades are good enough.
- Government schools will have about 50 students per class.
At the end of the day, there are just some things that a computer screen cannot replace. Part of the reason why I left the States.
