I flew into Hanoi yesterday and did some sightseeing today. That was great and all with one thing I noticed was that there are no South Vietnamese flags being displayed. This contrasting with China where the Republic of China’s (Taiwan’s) flag is still displayed in museums.
Anyways, I approached a girl today for the first time in a long time in a park. The problem was that she spoke very little English and I spoke non existent Vietnamese. I asked her for recommended food spots, she took me to a burger place, but didn’t want to eat with me. Bit disappointed sure, though I’m glad I tried. If I didn’t I would have never known.
And to be quite honest, if I were still in Reno, I wouldn’t have taken the shot. “If you want to change things in a big way, you need to make some big changes.” Rocky said. And that’s what I’m doing here. I’m not going to make any excuses, my dad may not have taught me how to be a man, but I’m going to take the initiative to figure things out.
And what I figure out, won’t just effect me, it’ll impact the lives of my future sons and generations after that.
